1 dead, 1 injured in Bradford Township car wreck

The circumstances of a crash that claimed the life of one Bradford Township man and left another one injured remain unclear at the time this post is written. The

happened in the early morning hours of Jan. 20.

According to Bradford Township Police, an SUV being driven by the 29-year-old fatal victim was headed north on Congress Street when it went into a skid. There's no word from authorities about what road conditions were like at the time or whether the vehicle might have been going too fast for the conditions.

There also have been no official remarks reported from police about whether impairment due to alcohol or drugs might have been a factor in the crash.

Officials say the vehicle went off the right side of the road and was brought to a halt after colliding with a tree. The driver was declared dead at the scene, police say.

Meanwhile, first responders had to rescue a 23-year-old male passenger from the vehicle. He suffered unspecified injuries and had to be hospitalized. He was first taken to Bradford Regional Medical Center and then moved to UPMC Hamot in Erie. His condition as of the day after the crash was listed as stable.

Anytime someone is injured in a motor vehicle accident, questions can surface around the issue of liability. Who is responsible? Is the pain and suffering a victim has endured something for which they can be compensated? How does one go about getting answers to such questions? The best way is to consult with an experienced attorney.
