Roadways across the state of Pennsylvania are more crowded than ever before. Getting behind the wheel of a motor vehicle is becoming more and more dangerous due to the sheer number of vehicles sharing the same space. These days, drivers face a myriad of unique distractions that can take focus off of the road. High traffic volumes combined with distracted or reckless drivers make car accidents almost inevitable. Many accidents are just minor fender-benders, but some accidents can be fatal.
A recent crash in Hampton left one woman dead and another woman facing possible charges. The crash happened during the afternoon hours near a construction zone where road crews were repairing potholes. According to reports, traffic had slowed due to the road work being conducted. Witnesses say a car driven by a 19-year-old woman failed to slow down and struck another car from behind.
Reports indicate that the initial collision sparked a chain-reaction crash that sent the initially struck car crashing into two other vehicles. The driver of the first car that was struck sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, police say. Tragically, she died a short time later. Police say charges will be filed against the 19-year-old driver of the car that caused the crash.
Navigating Pennsylvania’s congested roadways requires constant focus. Unfortunately, car accidents will happen regardless of how cautious and careful some drivers may be. Those in Pennsylvania who have been affected by accidents such as this may be able to pursue legal action. A successful lawsuit could provide victims and families with much-needed financial relief to help with medical expenses and lost wages.
