Pennsylvania roads and highways are busy at all times of the day and night. Drivers need to be alert and focused to travel safely and avoid being involved in accidents. Having some drinks or taking drugs can affect someone’s reaction times and reflexes and may lead to possible accidents. Recent crashes in Newtown Township have led to multiple drunk driving charges against the motorists involved.
Law enforcement officials report that a 27-year-old man from Philadelphia was in a two-car crash. Reportedly, the man said he had previously smoked marijuana before the accident. He was arrested after officers suspected that he was driving under the influence.
A few days later, a 43-year-old Doylestown man was also thought to be driving under the influence of alcohol, reports show. Officers claim he did not satisfactorily perform field sobriety tests. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI.
There were other incidents of driving under the influence prior to the two mentioned. A man was arrested after he took a field sobriety test, according to reports. He also allegedly committed multiple vehicle code violations. Police in Newtown Township also indicated that three additional DUI arrests had been made earlier in February.
When someone is arrested for drunk driving, a multitude of questions likely to mind. How will this charge affect one’s reputation or job? Will my license be revoked or will there be jail time? How quickly can things get back to normal? To answer all these questions and many more, it would be helpful to contact a Pennsylvania criminal defense attorney as soon as possible to prepare the strongest defense possible against the charges.
