All drivers, including those who drive box trucks and other large vehicles, have to remain aware and focused on driving. Failing to pay attention to road conditions and other vehicles can lead to serious accidents that truck drivers and trucking companies should be accountable for. A recent Pennsylvania crash illustrates the injurious consequences that can result from a collision with a large truck.

The accident occurred on April 15 in Brecknock Township when a Honda and a box truck collided on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The driver of the Honda was taken to a local trauma center with injuries that were said to be substantial. The two men in the box truck suffered injuries that were described as minor.

The woman driving the Honda was reportedly unconscious and had to be extricated from her vehicle. Emergency rescue crews cut off the roof of the car and rolled the dashboard to remove her because she was trapped.

Police are still investigating to determine the cause of the crash.

The woman who suffered serious injuries is likely to face considerable hospital bills, doctor bills, prescription costs and other expenses related to the accident. If her injuries cause her to miss work, then she may also have to account for lost income. On top of that, she faces what could be a long recovery process.

Anyone who is injured in a truck accident caused by the negligence of a truck driver could be entitled to compensation for expenses related to the injuries. Understanding the options for maximizing financial compensation helps ease the minds of many victims during their time of recovery.
